What Do You Need To Know Before Joining A Volleyball Club?

As a premier volleyball club in Colorado, one of the most common questions we get is surprisingly not about our game schedules, skill development, or anything else. Rather, the one we get asked the most has to be “Should I sign up to play club volleyball, and is it worth it?”. There are many things to consider before joining a volleyball club that may align with your values, skillset, etc. Keep reading to find out if it’s right for you and to learn what you need to know before joining a volleyball club!

Why Do You Want To Join A Volleyball Club?

A good place to start before joining a volleyball club is to figure out your motive. Do you want to play for fun, make friends, become a skilled player, or win tournaments? If you said yes to any of those, then it is definitely worth considering. Club-level volleyball is a great way to challenge yourself to grow as a volleyball player. It provides players with a challenging way to fine-tune their volleyball skills and knowledge. It’s also a great next step for most girls who want to take this sport more seriously. Girls considering playing volleyball at a college level and beyond will want to engage in club-level activities to keep their game improving daily.

Joining A Volleyball Club Is A Big Commitment

While it is a fun sport to play, joining a club team at a young age actually takes a lot of commitment. Although we want your all-star skills on our team, we advise that you consider the reality of what it takes to actually play at the club level. Relentless Volleyball Club requires its players to be able to meet certain time requirements that can be difficult to meet for everyone. This is why is it important to talk to your family and see how doable club-level volleyball is for you.

The commitment level is extremely high. From travel plans, not missing any games or practices, the financial end of it, there is a large level of commitment required of both the players and their families. It is not something to sign up for on a whim with no prior consideration. If this is a sport you are passionate about pursuing, then it is obviously important to follow your passion. You will just need to make sure that you have the full support of your family before you commit.

Joining A Volleyball Club Has Its Perks

While it is a lot of work, club volleyball is very rewarding. Playing volleyball under the supervision of a professional, supportive coach with a team of dedicated players who have the same mindset as you is a very valuable experience. It lets you reach goals that you may have previously not even considered possible. Investing the time into your team and yourself is also extremely rewarding. Although there are plenty of benefits to being in a club, making sure that you can be there for the team as much as the team is there for you is an important thing to consider.
